Airports

The airports we use in Dallas, and why.

DAL · Dallas Love Field

The close in airport, about 10 minutes from Highland Park and Preston Hollow and about 15 from downtown. Several FBOs sit on both sides of the field, runways run over 7,500 feet, and customs is on the field. Airline traffic shares the runways, so allow a few minutes of taxi and sequencing at busy hours.

ADS · Addison

North Dallas, about 15 minutes from Preston Hollow and Plano and about 20 from Highland Park and Frisco. A corporate field with a 7,200 foot runway, several FBOs, and customs on the field. No airline traffic, though the single runway stays busy on weekday evenings.

FTW · Fort Worth Meacham

The Fort Worth side, about 10 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and about 25 from Southlake and Westlake. Two parallel runways, the longer one about 7,500 feet, several FBOs, customs on the field, and a quieter pace than Love Field.

Aircraft

Aircraft based near Dallas.

Dallas is one of the larger charter markets in the country, and every category bases here. Light jets such as the Phenom 300 and the Citation CJ family sit at Addison and Love Field. Midsize aircraft include the Citation Excel and XLS and the Hawker 800XP. Super midsize aircraft such as the Challenger 300 and 350, the Citation X and the Citation Latitude base at Love Field and Addison, and heavy jets from Falcon and Gulfstream base on all three fields. What we can source in Dallas is newer than in Nashville, so we quote from operators on all three fields and from Houston and Austin when the fit is better there. All of it is available from our sourcing network; none of it is ours.

2 to 8 seats · short trips to about three hours nonstop

Very light and light jets

Very light and light jets bring our smaller jet options together. Start with a very light jet for two to four travelers, or a light jet for a group of six to eight, depending on the aircraft and baggage. Both suit shorter trips where a compact cabin works well. Very light options include the Citation Mustang, Cirrus Vision Jet and Phenom 100. Light jet options include the Citation CJ3, CJ4, Phenom 300 and Learjet 75 and 45XR.

7 to 9 seats · about four hours nonstop

Midsize jets

A midsize jet is the first category where you stand up, walk to the lavatory and close a door behind you. Seven to nine seats, about four hours nonstop, and a baggage bay that takes a week of luggage or skis for everyone on board. It is the workhorse of charter for a reason: it fits families, small teams and couples who want room, and it still uses runways that a heavy jet cannot. The midsize jets we source from our sourcing network are the Citation Excel and XLS+, the Hawker 800XP and 900XP, and the Learjet 60. The Excel and XLS+ and the Hawkers are aircraft we place clients on regularly from our sourcing network.

8 to 10 seats · about five hours nonstop, coast to coast

Super midsize jets

A super midsize jet is what you pick when the trip runs past four hours or the group runs past eight. It flies coast to coast nonstop, it is faster than a midsize, and the cabin is wide enough that two people can pass in the aisle. Eight to ten seats, a full stand up cabin on the Latitude and the Challengers, a real galley, and baggage you can reach in flight on some of them. The super midsize jets we source from our sourcing network are the Citation Latitude, the Citation X, and the Challenger 300 and 3500. The Latitude and the Citation X are aircraft we place clients on regularly from our sourcing network.

How it works

How a quote works here.

Step 1

Share the trip. From, to, dates and passengers. Your emailed planning estimate shows the range by aircraft category after you share your contact details.

Step 2

Options come back as soon as the desk can review your request. A pilot checks each aircraft against our written standards first: the age and condition of the airframe, the crew’s experience on the type and the performance the trip needs, and for Aspen or Cabo, the performance and the paperwork the trip needs.

Step 3

Pick one. We confirm the proposed airplane, itinerary and trip specific terms before you commit. Your written quote identifies the aircraft, total price, included taxes and fees, exclusions and any charges that may change.

Step 4

Fly. Your flight crew flies the trip. We arrange catering, cars and any changes, and you have one number the whole way.

Our standards

Every airplane has to fit the trip.

  • We review the airplane, its condition, the pilots’ experience and the requirements of your trip.
  • Our starting preference is an airframe from 2005 or newer. An exception comes with an explanation.
  • Your written quote identifies the airplane, what the price includes and the terms that could change it.
Fair questions

Private jet charter from Dallas questions.

How much does a private jet from Dallas cost?

Your emailed planning estimate shows the current range by aircraft category for your dates and destination. Nashville and the Gulf coast are light jet legs at the lower end. Scottsdale and Las Vegas fit a light or midsize jet. Aspen in winter and Cabo call for more aircraft, and New York at about three hours is midsize to heavy jet work, so the range moves up with the trip. Your quote will be exact.

How far in advance should I book from Dallas?

For a normal week, three to five days gives us more choice. For Aspen between Christmas and Presidents Day, spring break, the Texas OU weekend, Thanksgiving and Christmas week, book two to four weeks out. Cabo needs passports on file and the Mexican paperwork, so give us a week when you can. Same day is often possible; the choices are just fewer.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, on nearly every aircraft we source. Tell us the breed and size when you request the quote. Some operators add a cleaning fee for pets, and we put it in the quote. For Cabo, the dog needs its own paperwork, and we walk you through it.

How much luggage fits?

A light jet carries about six to eight standard bags. Skis and golf bags fit in some light jets and in nearly every midsize jet. For an Aspen ski week with a full cabin, a super midsize jet is often the right call for the bags alone. Count the bags and tell us, and we pick an aircraft with the space.

Can we get catering?

Yes. Light jets carry snacks, drinks and a cold spread. Midsize and larger aircraft carry a fuller meal. Order two days ahead when you can and the operator's crew stocks the aircraft before you board. Requested catering is itemized in the written quote; confirm the cost before ordering.
