ADS · Addison
Addison is the north Dallas option, close to Preston Hollow, Plano and Frisco. Its runway is about 7,200 feet, which suits light, midsize and super midsize jets. North of the LBJ Freeway, Addison usually wins on drive time.
FTW · Fort Worth Meacham
Meacham is on the north side of Fort Worth, about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and the shorter drive for Southlake and Westlake. Its main runway is about 7,500 feet.
SDL · Scottsdale Airport
Scottsdale Airport sits in north Scottsdale beside the Airpark. Its single runway is about 8,200 feet, which handles light through super midsize jets and many heavy jets. Figure about 10 minutes to Kierland and DC Ranch, about 15 minutes to Old Town and about 20 to 25 minutes to Paradise Valley. The airport asks for quiet hours overnight, so a very late arrival sometimes goes to Sky Harbor instead.
PHX · Phoenix Sky Harbor International
Sky Harbor is about three miles from downtown Phoenix and about 20 to 25 minutes from Scottsdale. It is open around the clock, with long runways and large private ramps. It wins for a heavy jet with a full load, a late night arrival, or an event week when the Scottsdale ramp is full.

Scottsdale's season runs from January into April. The tightest weeks are the January collector car auctions, the Phoenix Open in early February and spring training from late February through March. On those weeks aircraft book out early and the Scottsdale ramp fills, so some aircraft drop you and reposition, which shows on the quote. Summer is quiet and hot, and on a very hot afternoon the crew may plan a morning departure or a lighter fuel load.
- Scottsdale sees heavy business jet traffic in the winter season. Ramp space is the limit, not the runway. On peak weeks we ask for parking when we book.
- The field sits about 1,500 feet above sea level. Heat matters more than altitude here; a summer afternoon over 110 degrees trims the takeoff weight on some types.
- Winds are usually light, but spring afternoons can bring gusts and blowing dust. The crew watches it and may move the departure by an hour.
