Nashville International is on the east side of town, about 15 minutes from downtown in normal traffic. With a runway over 11,000 ft it departs any cabin size, and you board from the general aviation ramp about 15 minutes before the flight. For this short leg, John C. Tune on the west side is a good choice for a light or midsize jet if you live in West Nashville or Bellevue, and Smyrna saves the drive from Murfreesboro and the southeast side.

Destin Executive sits in the middle of Destin, just off Highway 98. It is about 10 minutes to the harbor, about 15 to 20 minutes to Sandestin and Miramar Beach, about 30 to 40 minutes to Grayton Beach and Seaside, and about 45 minutes to an hour to Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach. Add time on a summer Saturday when the rentals turn over. The runway is about 5,000 ft, which suits light and midsize jets well. A full super midsize jet on a hot afternoon may hit a weight limit, and the operator checks that before we quote.
ECP · Northwest Florida Beaches International
Northwest Florida Beaches International in Panama City Beach has a 10,000 ft runway and takes any aircraft in any weather. It wins for heavy jets, for larger groups, and for the east end of 30A: about 25 to 35 minutes to Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach, about 40 minutes to Seaside. Destin is about an hour away by car, so for Destin itself it only wins when the weather or the aircraft calls for it.

What a pilot would tell you about this leg.
The Destin and 30A season runs March to August. Spring break fills March, then Memorial Day, much of June and July, and the week around July 4. Rentals turn over on Saturdays, so Saturday flights book first and the roads are slowest. In those weeks quotes sit in the upper half of the range and the light jets based near Nashville go early. Book two weeks ahead for a summer Saturday. September and October are quiet and warm, and quotes tend to sit in the lower half of the range.
- No time change. Destin, 30A and Panama City Beach are on Central time, the same as Nashville.
- Destin sits inside military airspace from Eglin Air Force Base. Approach control sequences the arrivals, and on a busy summer afternoon you may spend a few extra minutes in the air.
- Destin's runway is short with water at the end. On a hot day a full cabin may mean a lighter fuel load or a different aircraft. The operator decides, and the quote reflects it.
- Gulf coast summer afternoons bring storms. Morning departures in both directions are the calm ones.
- This leg is short enough that a turboprop appears in the estimate. For four people who want to save, it is a real option.
